Depression is characterized by a generalized low mood and a loss of interest in things previously enjoyed in life. Other symptoms may (but not necessarily) include poor concentration, irritability, crying, feeling hopeless and/ or helpless, under or over eating, under or over sleeping and possibly suicidal thoughts. Talking to your therapist will help and support you in developing coping strategies to help manage difficult days. Reaching out can help can make sense of what you are experiencing. It can also enable you to experience fresh perceptions and new insights, thus finding a way forward.
